Trent Meadows and Stretton Patient Participation Group (PPG)
We are a group of volunteer patients who are working with the Practice to support, develop and improve patient services, helping with questionnaires and surveys, trying to fill in some of the gaps and by signposting our members to available support services.
Being part of a PPG provides an opportunity:
- – for patients and Practice staff to meet and explore issues arising from patient complaints and patient surveys
- – to provide regular updates to patients
- – to support healthcare awareness
- – to engage with the local communities and ensure the PPG is truly reflective of the Practice population
We meet every other month at Trent Meadows Primary Care Centre during which we host occasional health-related talks from local healthcare providers.
Our meeting dates are announced in advance in the reception areas, on notice boards, and on the Practice’s Facebook page.
Maybe you would like to just be a ‘virtual member’ and receive occasional e-mail information about the group and its activities.
PPG Talks and Presentations
The PPG has, over the past years, organised a number of talks and information events regarding health and well-being that have been of interest to our members.
In the past these have included the following topics:
- – Diabetes
- – Macmillan Cancer Support
- – The NHS
- – Voluntary welfare and charity groups
- – General healthcare
One of our most successful talks was about Prostate Cancer. We had no idea that it would be so popular and, in fact, we had to organise three separate presentations to be able to accommodate almost 150 people who had registered to attend.
Join Our Patient Participation Group (PPG)
We are currently seeking a Secretary to support the work of our Patient Participation Group (PPG).
The Secretary is responsible for taking and distributing meeting minutes, managing correspondence, and helping to organise meeting dates and communication between members.
These voluntary roles are a great opportunity to get involved, represent the voice of patients, and contribute to shaping the future of our practice.
If you’re interested in applying or would like more information, please leave your contact details at reception for us to pass on to the current chairperson or email us at trentmeadowsppg@staffs.nhs.uk.

Mission Statement
The objective of the group is to enable patient representatives, from each of the Patient Participation Groups, (PPGs), within the East Staffordshire area, to come together and discuss areas of good practice and those of concern so that meaningful discussion can be held across the whole spectrum of East Staffordshire GP surgeries. This expectantly will lead to the provision of consistent high quality medical care and services for all patients within East Staffordshire.
