Your Appointment
Contacting Us
You can contact us in several ways for a consultation:
- Competing a online triage form at home
- Phone
- Face-to-face at the surgery
Phone, video call, or text appointments can be more flexible. This often means the doctor or nurse can assist you sooner.
We typically start with a telephone appointment. If needed, we can then arrange a face-to-face visit. If you prefer to meet in person, please let us know.
If you need help with your appointment, please let us know:
- If you have a specific doctor, nurse, or health professional in mind.
- If you prefer to consult by phone, in person, or via text or email.
- If you need an interpreter.
- If you have any other access or communication needs.
Chaperones
We follow high professional standards and may offer a chaperone during some exams. Chaperones are trained staff who support and reassure you. You can request or decline a chaperone or examiner. If none is available, the exam may be rescheduled or not done.
The role of a chaperone:
- Keeps professional boundaries during intimate exams.
- Recognises a patient’s vulnerability.
- Offers emotional comfort and reassurance.
- Helps with the examination.
- Aids in undressing patients, if needed.

Home Visits
Home visits are for the housebound or seriously unwell patients.
When you fill in an online triage form or call our reception team who will complete the online triage form on your behalf, you must give us a working telephone number, supply the care navigators with as much information and reasoning to why the patient needs a home visit.
If you are making a visit request on behalf of a patient please make sure the patient is aware of this and agrees to the request being made. We acknowledge that some patients with significant memory problems or who are very unwell may be unable to make their own requests for visits and need help from a third party to access the right medical care.
If you can’t get to the surgery, please use family, friends, transport, or taxi services. Home visits are only for those who truly need them, as we have better facilities at the surgery.
When we are closed
NHS 111
If you feel very unwell and can’t wait for the surgery to open, call NHS 111 by dialing 111. They can advise you on the care you need. They can also organise emergency services or an ambulance if necessary.
NHS 111 is staffed by trained advisers, nurses, pharmacists, and doctors. This service is available for urgent medical help, but not for life-threatening situations.
Late Night Pharmacies
Community pharmacists are trained healthcare professionals who offer advice and sell medicines for minor illnesses like colds, coughs, and aches. They can refer you to a GP or nurse if needed. With five years of medical training, they provide expert guidance and health support. Many pharmacies are open late and on weekends, no appointment required. Private consultation rooms are available. To find an open pharmacy, visit NHS.uk and filter by ‘pharmacies open now.’
Extended Access Service
Our GP surgery offers extra evening and weekend appointments through a local partnership, giving more options when we’re fully booked or closed. Ask us if you need a sooner appointment—we may be able to offer one via extended access. You can also request a phone, or in-person consultation.
